Management Team
- Brian J. Bischoff- Co-founder, President & CEO of Healthsense, Inc. is an acknowledged leader in the field of product development and application of sensing and control technology. He has had the privilege of being the principal investigator on three National Institute of Health (NIH) and two Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) grants directed at technology enabled care. He has been developing and commercializing new products for 24 years and holds twelve patents. His career has included key leadership positions with Emerson Process Management and Honeywell, where he was selected as one of thirty-three global executives to participate in the Vision 2005+ project to define strategic trends that would shape the company and society over a five- to ten-year horizon. Following the Vision 2005+ project, he managed the large, global, Control Products business unit for Honeywell, making significant operational improvements. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
- Sue Horvath- Chief Financial Officer is a leader in the disciplines of finance, accounting and operations with close to 30 years in both large and small organizations across multiple industries. Prior to joining Healthsense, Sue was the CFO and VP of Operations/HR for Hemosphere, Inc., a venture backed, privately held company manufacturing and selling an FDA approved access device for hemodialysis. From 1999, Sue worked in various operational and finance roles for publically traded CNS, Inc. (The Breathe Right Nasal Strip Company) until the company’s successful sale in 2007. In her last position with CNS as the VP of International, she led the team responsible for the sales and marketing of Breathe Right in twenty eight countries outside the US. Sue spent 13 years in various accounting and finance roles with The Pillsbury Company and prior to that worked as a public accountant for Price Waterhouse Coopers (Coopers & Lybrand.) Sue currently holds a seat as an independent director and audit committee member for Bavia Health and is a treasurer/board member for the not for profit organization of Community Shares of Minnesota. Sue holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois in Champaign- Urbana and both a CPA (inactive status) and a CMA.
- Bryan Fuhr- VP of Business Development and Marketing has made a career of generating rapid sales growth for innovative, high-tech products in industrial markets. He understands the process of identifying customer needs, creating products that address these needs, and overcoming customer resistance to change. Bryan has 22 years experience in technology businesses. During this time he has worked in several disciplines including general management, marketing, engineering, and operations. As a Principal for Red Wing Technologies, Bryan has honed his technology marketing skills over the last five years. In his role as President of Alumiplate, Inc, a materials technology company, Bryan led the organization through the challenging process of introducing a revolutionary new product concept to the marketplace. At Emerson Process Management, Bryan was responsible for managing complex product line evolutions. Bryan holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
- Joe Mundell- VP of Sales has over 17 years of medical sales experience ranging from diagnostic imaging to patient monitoring. He has a solid track record of building and developing highly efficient sales teams in rapidly growing organizations. Before joining Healthsense, he served as Area Vice President for LifeWatch Inc. Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana State University.
- Dean Anderson- VP Engineering has 32 years experience with computers, ranging from mainframes to mircro-computers. He has extensive experience with embedded hardware and software design. He managed the software engineering department while at EF Johnson. In addition, he has worked for companies including: Honeywell, Emerson Electric, Gelco, BSquare, ATK, and Mediture. Dean is co-inventor on several Healthsense patents.
- Julie Bischoff, RN- Director of Nursing Informatics works closely with Healthsense clients to educate users on how to use the Healthsense system to get maximum benefit from a clinical standpoint. This involves training users to understand and utilize the information available with the system and how the system can be individualized for specific needs. This results in Healthsense customers achieving the benefits of safety and wellness that the system can offer. Julie also supervises the Healthsense Response Center and Technical Support functions. She holds a degree in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine.
- Keith Butler- Director of Information Technology joined Healthsense in 2008. He has extensive experience in telecommunications and computer network design and administration. Keith is responsible for the design and operation of Healthsense Data Center. He also designs, reviews, and approves network topology for Healthsense internal networks and also Healthsense client networks in support of the Healthsense system.
