PERs+, or Personal Emergency Response System Plus, is a package for active seniors who communicate with others regularly, but would like the added assurance of a monitoring system.

The PERs+ system goes beyond traditional emergency call systems by using both an emergency call pendant and an additional wireless sensor that tracks a daily activity. The additional Activity of Daily Living sensor, or ADL sensor, allows the PERs+ system to operate as a passive check-in system. For example, the ADL sensor could be placed on the refrigerator and monitor that the refrigerator is opened within a certain time frame each day.

If the ADL sensor does not detect the expected daily activity, a check-in call can be sent to the senior, family member, neighbor, etc. The PERs+ system can also support custom check-in or task reminder calls per individual needs.

    Why is the PERs+ system more capable than a traditional stand-alone call system?

    The true purpose of an emergency call system is to get a senior assistance in the event of an emergency. An emergency call pendant is certainly able to do that, but what happens if the senior falls and becomes unconscious, or they are simply not able to get out of bed one morning and the call device is across the room? This is why the PERs+ system is so much more capable than a stand-alone emergency call system. Even if the senior is not able to activate their call device, the PERs+ system can get the senior the help they need. The PERs+ system can also improve the everyday lives of seniors with custom task reminders and check-in calls. Families no longer need to worry about whether their loved one is safe living alone.
